Update on 1st Lieutenant John Zaal who was wounded in Iraq.

I’ve asked many of you to be praying for my friend, 1st Lieutenant John Zaal, who was wounded by a grenade while on patrol in Iraq. According to the report I received, John was standing under a window when a grenade was thrown out of it, landing about 3 feet in front of him and another Marine. Both men tried to jump to safety. John jumped on top of the other Marine in his platoon, trying to protect him with his own body. John sustained fragmentation wounds to his feet, calves, and arms. He was treated in a field hospital in Iraq and then air lifted to Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Germany. I spoke to two of John’s family members today, and I am happy to report that John is recovering much quicker than expected and is already back in Iraq with his platoon. John has also been promoted to Executive Officer of his platoon. John is a wonderful Christian young man and one who lives out his faith everyday. We are very thankful for what God is doing in his life. Please continue to pray for this dear friend and True American Hero! John, stay safe and always know that our love and prayers are with you! Thank you for all you do! We're all so very proud of you.
